The Spin

Simon Mathew was born and raised in the north of Jutland, Denmark. He grew up in a creative environment of song, dance and music along with 3 sisters and an older brother. Simon has been playing music as well as singing since about the age of 6. With 2 of his sisters, Rebekka and Sabina, Simon has performed in the USA, Africa, Australia and, of course, Scandinavia. Both sisters have had their commercial succes; Sabina in JamPack and Rebekka as the one part of the song duo Creamy.

Simon debuted with his first solo album in 2005, an album which can be classified as melodic rock; melodies with an edgy twist empowered by Simon’s characteristic raw vocal strength. Simon’s first single, “These Arms” stayed in the Danish national hitlist “Tjeklisten” for 5 consecutive weeks, and sat in the top 3 of the official single sales chart. Simon’s 2nd single, “Dreamer” received tremendous exposure and support through local Danish radio stations and lay at ..1 on the local radio “hitlist” for a number of weeks. Simon’s tour activity since the release of his debut album has spread his music throughout Denmark.
