Girl band Feminnem was formed in 2004. The band consists of Ivana Maric, Neda Parmac, and Pamela Ramljak. After the recording of the first single "Volim te, mrzim te" (I Love you, I Hate You), which climbed to the top spot in many European top tens, they came to the attention of Bosnia and Herzegovina. They're currently working on the first album.

Ivana Maric Born in Capljina, Herzegovina in 1982. First stepped onto the scene as a 13 year-old, performing with many bands, until she decides to go solo. As a solo performer, took part at "Melodije Mostara," where she won the best debutant award in 1999. As a contestant on "Croatian Idol," she attracted producers and the label "Croatia Records" which offered her a contract and a career in the only girl band "Femineem." In the band, she is called "Sexy Feminnem" for her ability to woo men's sighs with her performance
Neda Parmac Born in 1985 and is the youngest member of "Feminnem." In addition to singing, from early childhood has regularly taken dance lessons. Growing up with a father musician, fell in love with music and so at 13, started to perform in band "Kompas." Her performance on the "Turbo Limach Show" garnered much praise from the audience. On "Croatian Idol," she managed to reach the final, charming the viewers with her voice, look and dance. Because of youth and playfulness, in the band she is known as "Baby Feminnem."
Pamela Ramljak Born in 1979 in Capljina. Came to Zagreb in 1998, where she attended the Music Academy, and during this time has performed as a lead and back vocal in many bands. She expanded her musical knowledge, recording studio back vocals for many starts, including Toni Cetinski in Croatia, and Amila Glamocak in Bosnia. After completed the Academy, Pamela started her solo career. On "Croatian Idol" victory escapes her by a few votes, and so she decided to join "Feminnem." Pamela's energy, knowledge and elegance are "Femminem's" spice and they call her "Fancy Feminnem."

The Singer

Sexy, Baby, and Fancy make up "Femminem". I think that either something got lost in translation, or that "Fancy" got the short straw when nicknames were handed out. She sound's more like something Mr Kipling would drizzle all over with his white fondant (and maybe he has). Marshall Mathers is perhaps unsurprisingly nowhere to be seen here. In fact it's difficult to get much farther removed from Eminem's music...perhaps that was the idea. I'm probably giving them too much credit.

The Past

A popular nation of the hardcore ESC fans, although I'm slightly confused as to why, since it's all well and good churning out weak ethno-fuelled pap rock every year, but just because it's not sung in English, does not mean that the songs are any good. To my mind 2003 was the best year for Bosnia, and yet my UK thought it was the worst song of the contest that year. Unfortunately at least to popular UK tastes, Balkan musical ethnicity equals excrement. Also spare a special thought for the campest performer for many a year in 2004.

The Song
Well, the promo video is a lot of fun. You can't get more of an Eurovision/ABBA tribute song than this effort from the Balkan equivalent of Bananarama. They have utilised the singing directly opposite each other trick, and do seem to be genuinely enjoying themselves when delivering this banal strain of music. With gushing review after gushing review from gays all over the land for this song, I'm beginning to alter my opinion a bit. Due to it's obvious popularity with a certain cross section of UK society, I've now decided that it can emulate the glory of Deen from last year.

Gestures - 13 A solid effort in what is a quite sweet promo video. The song if you can be bothered to force yourself to listen to it, is a tribute to the Eurosong, a nice idea I'm sure you'll agree. Lots of swaying and the odd hand movements, but there's three of them, and really you would expect more digit manipulation all things considered.
"Wanna" Count - 0 There are inclusions of the word "Won't", but this is too grammatically correct to count

Overall
Love them for the promo video alone. Terry's Balkan block voting fetish should enable the ladies to gain enough points to land them mid table. I'll be appalled if it makes the top ten though.

In a Nutshell
"Not many people will be calling for Bosnia"

"The Shrink Says"

Femminem are an iconic example of the observational learning, viz the process of acquiring knowledge by observing others. Learning to sing and present a song by scrutinising the Swedish entry of 1974 and regurgitating it in a slightly more modern manner does not necessarily impress, as it belies a total lack of originality. I'm feeling troubled now. Nurse, pass me the needle.

Zovi

Mislila sam da cu moci sama
Sve kod sama nisam ostala
A da, glavu sam skroz izgubila

Mislila sam da mi nije stalo
Da ništa tvoga sa mnom nije ostalo
Ali svo vrijeme to si ti mi falio

Mislim sam mogu ja bez tebe
Al' u srcu još me nešto grebe
Još u glavi zvuk mi tvoga glasa
Mira ne da

Vjerovala sam da ce biti lako
Sad vidjela sam to ne može svatko
Srce razum skoro nikada ne sluša

Zovi
Kad na srcu rana boli
Ja sam ona što te voli
I za tebe što postoji
Vec godinama

Samo zovi
U bilo koje doba noci
Istog trena ja cu doci
Da prije no zatvoriš oci
Usne tvoje poljubim

Mislila sam da mi nije stalo
Da ništa tvoga sa mnom nije ostalo
Ali svo vrijeme to si ti mi falio

Vjerovala sam da ce biti lako
Sad vidjela sam to ne može svatko
Srce razum skoro nikada ne sluša

Zovi
Kad na srcu rana boli
Ja sam ona što te voli
I za tebe što postoji
Vec godinama

Samo zovi
U bilo koje doba noci
Istog trena ja cu doci
Da prije no zatvoriš oci
Usne tvoje poljubim

Vjerovala sam da ce biti lako
Sad vidim to ne može svatko

Samo zovi
U bilo koje doba noci

Da prije no zatvoriš oci

Da prije no zatvoriš oci
Usne tvoje poljubim
Poljubim
Zovi!

Call Me

I used to think that we could never make it.
That million hearts could never beat as one,
But now - miracle is not so hard to find.

There were times when I really doubted,
if, after stormy weather, always comes the sun,
but now - I can see the world from a different side, yeah!

Singer after singer, remembered,
different flags, but nations gathered -
from the north to the south, all standing side by side.

There was laughter, and there was crying,
but after all, I'm not denying -
I'm so happy to be here, 'cause it's the time of my life...

Ref:
Call me
Everytime you're feeling lonely,
our greatest wish is one and only:
Sing with me, it's how it should be
for the rest of our lives...
...so won't you

Call me
we'll reach the very top and nothing less,
united in the song, that's all it takes,
fifty candles on the fourty cakes,
for the many years of happines.
