As a singer with the group Camerata Vocal (Torres Vedras), conducted by Luís Bragança Gil, he toured Denmark, Germany, Austria, France and Spain, taking part in the Contat and Eurotrepht festivals. When singing, he is accompanied by the acoustic guitar. In 1997, he was given his TV debut on the show 'Chuva de Estrelas', singing the song Under the Bridge by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and in 1998, while still in Torres Vedras, he won the talent contest 'À Descoberta de Novos Valores'. In 2000 and 2001, he won the first and second series of the contest 'Novos Talentos' organised by Rádio Oeste. In 2003, he took part in the TV series 'Operação Triunfo', broadcast by RTP. He performed at 21 different venues, as part of the cast of singers uncovered on the hit series, touring mainland Portugal, the Azores, Madeira and Cape Verde Islands. Luciana Abreu - Lead vocal Born in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal on 25 May 1985, Luciana attended the Escola Contemporânea do Espectáculo, in Oporto. She won the song contest 'Cantigas da Rua' in 1999 and won every single karaoke contest in which she competed from 2000 to 2004. She took part as actress and singer in the play 'O Casamento' by the Seiva Trupe (a theatre company) in 2002. She was an actress, singer and dancer in the play 'Cabaret Carioca', 2003 and competed in the TV song contest ÍDOLOS (Pop Idols), shown on SIC, and was one of the finalists. Her performance led to invitations to take part in several TV shows.
















	The Singer They're two young whipper snappers who have the world at their feet, or at least parts of rural Portugal at their feet...that is until they finish 25th and come home to mild public scorn. I don't feel to glad for 19 year old Luciana, as her budding career of guest appearances on public TV will go up in smoke...and she seems so likeable too. Ah well, shit happens.












	The Past Portugal are an enigma to me. I don't understand how they can churn out the same shite year after year, and not learn to either 1. try something new, or 2. quit. They've been in 36 contests, and been abject in all of them. Ok so they came 6th in 1996, but promptly followed that up with a no pointer a year later. '96 remains their best performance in what has been a litany of continuous embarrassment. Occasionally they do have a half decent singer (Anabela and Rita Guerra are the only two that spring to mind though), and I shouldn't complain because it's countries like Portugal that foul the footpath of serious Eurovision fans static caravans year after year. Long live Portugal.





	The Song It's irredeemably dire. The best way to sum it up is take all your negative thoughts about Mediterranean derivative pop songs, roll them into one, and put forward two Blue Peter lite singers to perform it. During the song they confidently assert "we can hold it together". As far as I'm concerned it unravelled as soon as the foul musical arrangement started and they opened their mouths. Utterly without merit. Gestures - 5 They're sitting on the dock of the bay, having a good singsong here, but it certainly ain't Otis. "Wanna" Count - 0






	Overall They common consensus is that Portugal are taking the contest less and less seriously. They were the last to lay their votive offering at the feet of Mr Stockselius. This usually declares a certain quality of homework and development. This theory has been blown out of the Algarve water by 2b. Their song is a monotonous stinker, and will fail. In a Nutshell "What are y'talkin about Drummond?"

"The Shrink Says"

Assigning symptoms of obsessive compulsive disorder to this pair seems painfully obvious. They are clearly flogging a dead horse by trying to maintain their entertainment career, but insist on awkwardly shaking their hips and staring vacantly into their cameras blissfully unaware of their lack of ability. It appears their hip shaking is a defense mechanism...a way for the mind to protect us from being consciously aware of thoughts or feelings that are too difficult to tolerate, namely the call from their agent in early June dropping them like a stone.
