Complete gobbledygook translation Biography below
24 year old Sofia
More of the one than the melody, Sofia, 24 years, she appreciates a good letter. E is not to find odd that she gives as much importance to the words.
She is that for besides studying Sciences of the Communication, in the New University of Lisbon, the young lady considers herself a sufficiently communicative person.
Between the 5 and 15 years Sofia frequented piano lessons and already she loaned her voice to two musical sets: "I sing Twice" and "Projecto d'Alma". She likes to listen to music, go to the cinema, and to read. She considers herself a strong sportswoman and already she practised gymnastics, Aeróbics and Step. To enter for the school of the "Operation Triumfo" she interrupted a fitness course which would have qualified Sofia to give Aerobic lessons.
She enjoys changing people's preconceptions. She is a fan of the Brazilian culture, particularly for the spiritual side. She appreciates jazz, bossa new and destiny.
She admits that to eat she is its only vice. Adept of the simple things of the life, it is the small things in life that give Sofia her biggest pleasure. Will it be that "Operation Triumfo" will help Sofia to see her dreams materialize?

The Singers
When you think of Sofia, you're likely to picture Ms Loren. You're unlikely to picture an Eastern bloc capital packed full of concrete. This particular Sofia leans towards the latter, but also carries the bulging semi-domes coated in gold leaf of the Aleksandar Nevski church of that same city.
Sofia also owns a set of incredibly white teeth, bearing in mind she hails from a nation that lives off fish.
She also has borrowed heavily from Sertab Erener. The backing group do a good impression of last year's winner, doing the grabbing and fondling bit on the singer. The costumes have more than a nod to Turkey's 2003 too.

The Past
Portugal are an enigma to me. I don't understand how they can churn out the same shite year after year, and not learn to either 1. try something new, or 2. quit. They've been in 36 contests, and been abject in all of them. Ok so they came 6th in 1996, but promptly followed that up with a no pointer a year later. '96 remains their best performance in what has been a litany of continuous embarrassment. Occasionally they do have a half decent singer (Anabela and Rita Guerra are the only two that spring to mind though), and I shouldn't complain because it's countries like Portugal that foul the footpath of serious Eurovision fans static caravans year after year. Long live Portugal.

The Song

Normal service resumes. After last year's half-decent ballad, sung extremely well, this year's Portuguese effort is a fully-awful fast ballad which will get a damn good kicking. And I'm the one with the Euro 2004 football boots, flying in knee-high with studs showing.

Overall

Note to Portuguese readers. Don't book your Istanbul hotel rooms after the 12th. You won't be needing them. Portuguese is such a lovely language, but Portugal in Eurovision has been historically rancid, and this just adds to the barrel of rotten fish heads.

It Was Magic

I don't know what it was
I don't know what got into me
But suddenly, there I was
It was magic, it was magic

And there you were
Smiling atr me
I never saw anything like it

It was magic, it was magic

It was magic
When I touched you and the kiss I gave you
(It was magic) on that day
(It was magic) on that day

It was magic
When I touched you and the kiss I gave you
(It was magic) on that day
(It was magic) on that day

I don't know what got into me
But what happened
Was something dvine

It was magic, it was magic

I don't know what it was
That made me act that way
I never did anything like it

It was magic, it was magic

It was magic
When I touched you and the kiss I gave you
(It was magic) on that day
(It was magic) on that day

It was magic
When I touched you and the kiss I gave you
(It was magic) on that day
(It was magic) on that day

It was magic
When I touched you and the kiss I gave you
(It was magic) on that day
(It was magic) on that day

It was magic
When I touched you and the kiss I gave you
(It was magic) on that day
(It was magic) on that day

Eu nunca fiz nada igual.
