Blue Cafe won at last, and more details will follow shortly. All I'll say now is that the song stinks.
Tatiana Okupnik is the 25 year old lead singer. A type of Spiteri/Siouxsie
At the age of she was admitted to the Ballet School of Lodz and spent 3 years there
"The stage was a very big attraction for me and that is why I liked to pretend that I was an actress in my primary and secondary schools (competitions, school plays). That was the time when I became interested in foreign languages: Russian, French and English. At the end of my secondary school education I recorded a song for my mom and I already knew that I have to sing!"

"In 1997 I was admitted to the studies (Roman Philology). I performed at cabarets all the time. One of my performances was witnessed by Pawel Rurak-Sokal... and as a result – Blue Café band was founded in 1998. This band provides me an opportunity to combine everything that I enjoy: singing, dancing, practicing foreign languages".

"And when my free time is much longer, I renovate old furniture." "I have a dog and three cats that give me the whole energy required for the concerts. When my pets are sick and tired of me, I search for the positive energy on the fields, meadows and in the forests... it helps!"

Blue Cafe’s leader, Pawel Rurak–Sokal (keyboards), composes all the group’s songs, whilst Tatiana Okupnik, is the band’s heavenly diabolic singer, whose voice range covers more vivid and various shades than the ones used by painter Marc Chagall. She also writes all the band’s lyrics. The rest of the line-up is completed by six talented musicians: Marcin Blasiak (Bass Guitar), Piotr Grabkowski (Saxophone), Sebastian Kasprowicz (Electric Guitar), Piotr Slawinski (Trumpet), Michal Niewiadomski (Trombone) and Lukasz Moszczynski (Drums).

The Singer

Voiced not unlike a less powerful Bob Dylan during his latter years, Miss Blue Cafe, Tatiana, is a bit of a mess. She's got that 40 Marlboro's a day voice, gargling with razorblades, a sound seemingly so popular in Gdansk. I bet she gets mistaken for her Gran when she's on the family phone. She would fit right in at Kings Cross. If you had this tea-cosy barneted lady for a girlfriend, you'll be constantly reaching for the mute on the remote control. etc

She wants "to feel your body". Good god.

The Past

2005 will Poland's tenth anniversary in the Eurosong, and they've been in the top ten twice since 1994, not that great to be honest. First time up Edyta came a creditable second, but alas they haven't approached that level of excitement tinged with temporary fear of having to host it since. "The Rhinestone Cowboy and the Snow Queen" (Terry's description, not mine) performed with weighty gravitas in 2003 and came eighth. But those apart, they've failed. Still, Germany love 'em.

The Song

t's not sweet, in fact it stinks to high heaven of swine smelling shite.
More than other years, 2004 has it's fair share of weird voices. The Polish lady from Blue Cafe is the epitome of Eurosong novelty act. The incomprehensible & repetitive Afro/Latin warbling just complements the song to really set your teeth on edge.
Lesson; kooky does not always mean entertaining.

"na na na" factor - Low
"wanna" factor - A big 6

Footnote:- Bizarrely this is one of only two songs this year with plenty of "wanna's" in it. And we all know how wanna's perform at ESC. Gulp.

Overall

Much like her likeness, the equally talent-deprived singing/songwriting Sharleen Spitieri, Blue Cafe have churned out a repetitive sack of shite. I've read that this bunch of misfits do have "a strong market". I presume that means selling fruit & veg out of a stall in Krakow as a means to boost their income.
Sweet song, my arse. They should be done under the Trade Descriptions Act, the rank-standing impertinence of them.

In a Nutshell
"Can wanna's save it? God, I hope not"
