The band 'Re-union' consists of Paul de Corte and Fabrizio Pennisi. They met at the beginning of 2001 when they both sang in the Dutch boy band 'All of Us'. Both Paul de Corte and Fabrizio Pennisi had by then already acquired a great deal of experience in music.

25 year old Paul de Corte started singing when he was as young as twelve, in a local youth choir. After a few years, he made the switch to a pop choir. He also started taking singing lessons, to enhance his musical education. In 1999, Paul started his own pop choir, 'You name it', and also sang in the cover band 'Expose Yourself'. Paul's busy singing career did however take its toll. His voice started giving him problems, and in 2000 he could barely sing at all for an entire year.

24 year old Fabrizio Pennisi, born in Sicily, Italy, grew up in a very musical environment. His father, a singer and guitar player, gave Fabrizio a guitar when he was only four years old and taught him his first chords. His love for music was born then and there and very soon Fabrizio was travelling with his father and performing in restaurants, clubs, and, according to Sicilian tradition, at weddings and parties. Everywhere they came, they would manage to move people with their beautiful voices and mostly Italian repertoire.

In 1998, the Dutch boy band 'All of Us' was formed and Fabrizio Pennisi became one of the five lead singers. In 2000 they scored their first number-one hit: 'Brand New Start'. When the structure of the band changed in 2001, Paul de Corte came to join the ranks. 'All of Us' performed in The Netherlands and abroad until the band split up in October 2002. Paul took part in another National Song Contest when he was asked to do the backing vocals for the group 'The Beanuts' in the preliminary round of the National Song Contest 2003. Fabrizio continued to play the guitar and was performing with his father again. In order to make a living he opened a local pub, where, besides pulling beers, he entertained the punters with his music..

The Singers

Many people think these two clones (not clowns, that would be entertaining, and this isn't entertaining) will do well. From what I've read of them, they do seem to be a fairly decent pair of blokes (Joey & Chandler types), so I can't begrudge them a bit of success. They won't get any from "Without You" though, unless the world is a more messed up place than I ever could have ever imagined.  Boyz2MenBollocks.

The Past
The Netherlands (not Holland...you don't call England, Essex do you?) started their Eurovision journey with great success. Even though Corey couldn't get a point, he still won (mind you, everyone won in1956). Still to be fair he came back the following year and bagged it on merit. Indeed the Dutch have won it on four occasions, most notably with the pinnacle of Eurovision in 1975, when "Ding-a-Dong" rang joyously and loudly throughout the European firmament, signifying the end of the Beatles and the beginning of Wings...maybe.
They vote like loons (Terry referred to them as "mad as a bucket of frogs"), and invariably do boisterous at the contest. Linda in 2000 might just get the award for the ,most ridiculous dress ever at Eurosong...a mighty feat. A successful and fun nation at Eurosong, and one which is overdue a fifth victory.

The Song

You start to worry when finger clicking is a central focus to the tune. The voices will cause fillings across Europe will be ground out during this song.
The only good thing is that one of the voices brought back happy memories of my late pet Golden Retriever, Jake, who used to howl from inside a wardrobe during the fireworks of Bonfire night. I miss him. This, however, I won't.

Overall

Dull dull dull, which is a shock of epic proportions coming as it does from the Netherlands. I don't even think we can expect something amusing to look at from them this year, not even "a big lump of a woman in the hat". I worry for the state of mitteleuropa if both the Netherlands and Germany come up with such anodine offerings. Is political correctness raising it's ugly head in Eurovison once more? I do hope not.
Two singers, two stools, two off-key falsetto voices, two guitars, no tune. This song is awful, quite horrid.

In a Nutshell
"Foul stinking mess"

Without You

I spent my life in search for you
Not knowing what to find
Still wonder how did I pull through
Without you on my mind

Friends tell me you’re no good for me
I’ll show them all they’re wrong
‘Cause you are everything to me
It never felt so strong

Without you...
Nothing can turn out right
I lie awake all night
Without you...
I keep calling your name
My life can never be the same

You are a miracle to me
Your face I can’t forget
I just feel we’re bound to be
From the moment that we met

I’ve been waiting for someone like you
Now you’ve come my way
Sometimes I can’t believe it’s true
I hope you’re here to stay

Without you...
Nothing can turn out right
I lie awake all night
Without you...
I keep calling your name
My life can never be the same

Listen to this heart of mine
It’s filled with dear desire
For you’re the kind I tried so long to find
You set my soul on fire

Without you...
Nothing can turn out right
I lie awake all night
Without you...
I keep calling your name
My life can never be the same

Without you...
I lie awake all night
I keep calling you
Without you...
Without you
