The Singer

A man used to impressive views when he pops out for a quart of goat's milke, Stevan (yes, that's an "a") is Montenegirn with a dash of Scottish in his blue veins. A bit like Olivia from Malta, Srtevan has been trying for a while now to represent his country, but never stood a chance against the mighty Serbia and the even mightier No Name even when he did win the national pre-selection. But finally with independence his chance has come, and his chance is as slim as a Size 0 pencil skirt.

The Past

Montenegro don't have a history in the competition as 2007 sees the first time they are representing themselves. Previously they had a not-so-happy agreement that gave the Serbian broadcaster the choice to send a representative one year and the Montenegrin one the go after that. It all kicked off in 2006 though, when the Montenegrins fancied another go straight after 2005, by voting in their hundreds to send No Name (the only band in Montenegro) to the party. Serbians were put out, started throwing insults and bottles, and No Name exited stage right. They are now an independent state and have the challenge of finding a singer every year, which isn't No Name.

The Song

This song isn't as bad as has been suggested. It's worse. Quite how Montenegro who fought so democratically for independence chose to illustrate their musical ambition with Faddy's foul fart is beyond me. The video consists of a meringued bride in boots walking around aimlessly, getting sea spray in somenthing that's blue. And as for the lyric "let me feel your fire, don't you see the surge of my desire?" I don't even want to go into it.

Overall

A friend of mine was inquiiring the other day about how to get hold of cheeses from the more obscure Euro nations for a Saturday soiree. Now far be it from me to tell you which Europeans coutries are in fact obscure (Armenia for one though) but I can confidently tell him, that when you've got Stevan dribbling soft rock at you like this, no further curled milk product is required.

In a Nutshell
"Step down, now"

the philosopher says

parsimony, law of Belief that the simplest answer is most likely to be the correct one. As a methodological principle, this may be no more than an initial bias in favour of uncomplicated solutions. Its ontological form-that we ought never to multiply entities without necessity-is also known as Ockham's razor." For example, all things being considered, Stevan Faddy will finish very close to the bottom in the Eurovision Song Contest of 2007. Recommended Reading: Sharon M. Kaye and Robert M. Hajde kroci

Come on, Step up

Whenever we meet, you just walk by
but I can see the fire in your eye.
Come on, step up, you will be my lover,
in my life there’ll never be another.

Give me your heart and I will fly
like an eagle soaring to the sky.
Yes, come forward, let me feel your fire.
Don’t you see the surge of my desire?

Oh, just say a word and I will surrender.
Oh, this is the passion I will remember
all my life.

Are they C w
