"...and achieved an unbelievable success with 175 live performances that year."

The Spin

At the early age of five, Kenan Dogulu was enrolled on the piano section of the School of Music with the highest scores. Having completed six years of education in the piano section, he started flute & guitar classes from Erkan Alpay. In the meantime he continued his education in drama and rhytmic instruments, and he carried on singing as a soloist in the children's chorus. He started an undergraduate program in L.A. Musicians Institute to improve his musical career and introduce Turkey. He later decided to carry on with his education in Turkey and started his education in the Music Department of Bilgi University.
Kenan Dogulu, although a famous, popular and appreciated artist in Turkey, thinks what he has achieved in his musical career is still not sufficient and keeps on working consistently to set his targets higher with significant projects.

The first album of the artist, "Yaparim Bilirsin" was released in August 1993. 93 concerts held that year was a considerable achievement in Turkey. His second album "Simsiki Siki Siki" was released in December 1994 and achieved an unbelievable success with 175 live performances that year. Decennial March, a symbol of the Republic of Turkey, was arranged and presented by Kenan Dogulu to contemporary Turkey and Turkish people on October 29, 1997. He has contributed to a great extent in making the Republic March put on the agenda, become popular and be embedded in children's and youth's minds again.

In 1999, inspired by the great attention of the Turkish people on the rearrangement of the Decennial March, the artist released a new album with the rearrangement of the "Youth March" in the memory of Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey. He believes these works play an important role in conveying the spirit of nationalism to younger generations

The artist has finished working on his latest album and "Kenan Dogulu 6.5" in 2004 August. The video clip to the song "Isyan Bu, Haykiris" filmed in Dinar was performed for the sole purpose of helping and providing financial support to the earthquake victims in the region. Finally the artist plans to spend some time in Los Angeles in September to work on his first English album.

The Singer

Turkey have the strongest advantages when it comes to European diaspora. Turks are scattered widely throughout Europe in large numbers, and while I think the effect on voting is over-played by Euro-stat freaks, it definitely does help the Turks to get points from Mitteleuropa each year. So Kenan hasn't been afraid to buy bulk economy tickets and jet across the continent pre-contest, offering cheek and mild sexual tension as he goes. He needs a whole lot more than mild flirtation to get past the semi-final.

The Past

Sertab couldn't have happened to Turkey at a better time. During futile attempts of the nation to sally forward for EU membership, along came a 4 foot toothy curiosity who did more for their cause in 3 minutes than the whole government had achieved in the preceding 10 years... maybe. 2003 saw the first victory for Turkey in what until that point had basically been a shameful experience. Sebnem Paker (not Lady Penelope's chauffeur, there's no "r") had miraculously come fairly close, but apart from that occasion even Portugal were becoming jealous of their pitiable challenges to bring attention to the nation "where East meets West". Their successful hosting in 2004 changed all that, and putting aside politics for a moment, and instead embracing bad European music, we welcome Turkey with open arms.

the philosopher says

eternal return Belief that everything that happens has happened before and will happen again, since the universe (or time itself) is fundamentally cyclical. A standard feature of Pythagorean and Stoic thought, this view was more recently adopted as a basis for practical hope by Nietzsche. For example: every year the Turkish Eurosong entry will sound the same to anyone living north of Brussels. Shake it up, Sekerim (Honey)

She smiled at me, said: "Would you like it sweet and low?"
"I know a place where we can take it nice and slow"
I know what you're thinking: don't stop, I need that sweet thing
Telling you now this is real

Shake it up sekerim, I know what you're feelin'
Shake it up sekerim, I got what you're needin'
Shake it up sekerim, tell me what you're thinkin'
Shake it up sekerim, you're my only sweet thing

She said in a sexy lazy low key: "Can I make it right?"
You put your trust on me, I'll take you through the night
Don't keep me waiting, not sure you're understanding
Just how much I crave for you

Shake it up sekerim, I know what you're feelin'
Shake it up sekerim, I got what you're needin'
Shake it up sekerim, tell me what you're thinkin'
Shake it up sekerim, you're my only sweet thing

Lovey-dovey, lovey-dovey all the time
I got lots of candy to make you mine
Lovey-dovey, lovey-dovey all the time
I got lots of candy for you

Lovey-dovey, lovey-dovey all the time
I got lots of candy to make you mine
Lovey-dovey, lovey-dovey all the time
I got lots of candy for you

Shake it up sekerim, I know what you're feelin'
Shake it up sekerim, I got what you're needin'
Shake it up sekerim, tell me what you're thinkin'
Shake it up sekerim, you're my only sweet thing

(Shake it up sekerim) Shake it up sekerim
Shake it up sekerim, you're my only sweet thing
Shake it up sekerim, tell me what you're thinkin'
Shake it up sekerim, you're my only sweet thing

Shake it up sekerim
