"David J -vocalist and rapper from England who has been very active on the German music market for years"

The Spin

The Jet Set Group was created in Poland in 2005. They play a mix of R'n'B, rap, pop and dance.

The debut of The Jet Set took place in January 2006. The music of the Jet Set is an interesting combination of the newest trends and a clash of two music cultures- The East and the West. It's a combination of a splendid voice, youthful energy and talent of 17 year old Sasha who was born in St. Petersburg, Russia and vocals as well as rap performed by David who comes from England. The music of the Jet Set is a mix of R'n'B and rap with elements of pop and dance music.

The group is made up of: Sasha who comes from Saint Petersburg, Russia but has been living in Poland for 15 years and David J -vocalist and rapper from England who has been very active on the German music market for years and is currently living in Poland. In the beginning of The Jet Set, the band was created by Sasha and rapper Tray (from Chicago). Tray is the author of "How many people" and "Just call me". The premier of the group's first album titled "Just call me" took place at the end of July 2006. The album has the status of a Gold record.

The Jet Set started on the road to fame during the Polish pre- selections for the Eurovision Festival in 2006, where they came close to winning. The song "How many people" quickly reached the highest rotations on the Hit charts in the whole country. From that moment the popularity of TJS has been constantly growing. The second single "Just call me" also became a hit- the song placed second in the Polish category during the prestigious Sopot Festival in 2006. In 2006, The Jet Set took part in many television concerts and played for many thousands of people. On February 3rd 2007, the group fought to have the honor to represent Poland at the Eurovision Festival in Helsinki and succeeded.

The Singer

Poland, wedged as they are between a butch lesbian and an aging Croatian rocker in the draw, has a window of opportunity to provide some much needed glam. That attractive slot is provided by the svelte Sasha, your Eastern popstrel who has even less inhibitions than Abrahamovic's wife talking to a divorce lawyer.

The Past

2005 will Poland's tenth anniversary in the Eurosong, and they've been in the top ten twice since 1994, not that great to be honest. First time up Edyta came a creditable second, but alas they haven't approached that level of excitement tinged with temporary fear of having to host it since. "The Rhinestone Cowboy and the Snow Queen" (Terry's description, not mine) performed with weighty gravitas in 2003 and came eighth. But those apart, they've failed. Still, Germany love 'em.

The Song

It's isn't half bad, this one...it's totally crap. They officially play a mix of R'n'B, rap, pop and dance although it's tricky to work out which one they're attempting on this song. A song that revolves on imbuing sexual images of the Russian popstrel into tired minds of befuddled males Europe over. When it's raining and bad news is on tv, then give Sasha a bell and get crazy. Oh my, the possibilities. Even with the Poles now monopolising North Wales and major cities in England, I still can't see this progressing.

Overall

The sultry tease Sasha dons a pair of hot pants and spreads her legs to the farthest corners of Europe to welcome fans, whilst inviting allcomers to get down on her. "Time to Party" is a by-the-numbers sack of repetitive pop, which won't get through, even with the hip gyrations & horn parping. After all, hotpants never fail to fail at Eurosong.

In a Nutshell
"A Russ Abbott type of party"

the philosopher says

utilitarianism Normative theory that human conduct is right or wrong because of its tendency to produce favorable or unfavorable consequences for the people who are affected by it. The hedonistic utilitarianism of Bentham, Mill, and Sidgwick maintains that all moral judgments can be derived from the greatest happiness principle. The ideal utilitarianism espoused by G. E. Moore, on the other hand, regarded aesthetic enjoyment and friendship as the highest ethical values. Recommended Reading: M. D. Bayles, Contemporary Utilitarianism (Peter Smith, 1980)
I prescribe to Utiltarianism...and can confidently argue The Jet Set are wrong,...plain wrong (apart from the breast angle, obviously).
