2005: In middle February she released her latest CD "Sto idio vagoni". Evridiki wrote two of the songs (music and lyrics) and there are two duets with Dimitris Korgialas and Georgia Kefala.
2006: She continues her live appearances in Athens. Now she is on tour all around Greece and is preparing her new studio CD, with an expected release date of the end of the year.

The Singer

Unofficially the third drag queen of 2007, Evridiki has a great shout at the Barbara Dex award this year, for the most ghastly costume choice. In the video she's wrapped in leather pants, plumes of white silk on top, and gold gloves. It's almost as if she needs a new look for her third time up at the Eurosong, having failed with some aplomb twice previously.

The Past

12 points guaranteed from Greece, and apart from that have largely been a mid-table embarrassment. Barring a lass from Kent in 2004, Cyprus are invariably represented by blokes in unbuttoned white shirts, gold pendants, and a gorilla on their chest. Well, most of the time anyway. Nuff said.

The Song

The French would never demean themselves to put repetitive rock into the contest, so it's up to the Cypriots to do it for them. Quite why Evridiki decided to sing in French is beyond me, but it doesn't help. She probably likes the way "comme ci comme ca" sounds, but I don't when it's performed like this. The chorus kicks in early enough and you think it may have promise, but this never materialises and you're left with the empty feeling of a agonisngly wasted three minutes.

Overall

As one of my most enjoyably warm denigrators of Eurosong stated about this effort "It's just about the most uninspiring and tired bit of nonsense this year. Reality has clearly never been a friend of the Cypriots and this richly deserves to flop big time". Pithy review that.

In a Nutshell
"Life passes me by quickly listening to this"

the philosopher says

converse accident {Lat. a dicto secundum quid ad dictum simpliciter}
The informal fallacy of using exceptional specific cases as the basis for a general rule, omitting reference to their qualifying features.
Example: "Cyprus entered a has-been female balladeer in 2006 & 2007. Therefore Cyprus always sends has-been female balladeers into Eurosong."

Je suis déçue, tu m'as perdue

Même les samedis à minuit, tu me dis déjà bonne nuit

Je suis déçue, tu m'as perdue

Je suis déçue, tu m'as perdue

So-so

Every Monday, you finish your work too late
And then the TV is sounding when my heart wakes up
And every Tuesday, you tell me in the morning, and you forget it
We'll go to the cinema, but in the evening, sorry

So-so, life passes by
And the beautiful times pass us over
So-so, love breaks
Routine and laziness threaten us

So-so, I can't take it anymore
I'm disappointed, you've lost me
I don't stay there, so-so
Here's the end, so-so

Even on Saturdays at midnight, you already tell me good night
You fall asleep when I go out, singing to you very loudly:

So-so, life passes by
And the beautiful times pass us over
So-so, love breaks
Routine and laziness threaten us

So-so, I can't take it anymore
I'm disappointed, you've lost me
I don't stay there, so-so
Here's the end, so-so

So-so, life passes by
And the beautiful times pass us over
So-so, love breaks
Routine and laziness threaten us

So-so, I can't take it anymore
I'm disappointed, you've lost me
I don't stay there, so-so
Here's the end, so-so

I don't stay there, so-so
Here's the end, so-so
I don't stay there, so-so
Here's the end
