Singer 23-year-old Sandra Oxenryd from Kristinehamn , Sweden is a former economics student and floorball player. Together with her Swedish friends - a former teacher, a cashier and a guy that just loves skiing - she is now competing for Estonia, supported by two Estonian backing singers, who have already participated in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2000 and 2002.

Sandra's singing career started on national TV as an 11-year-old. At the age of 18, she took part in a national TV look-a-like show. She performed as the famous singer Carola and ended up coming second in the final. In 2005, Sandra won the 'Fame Factory' competition and recorded an album with the biggest schlager record company in Sweden. At the moment, she is working for the biggest entertainment company in Sweden. Her three backing dancer-singers work for the same company and, to cut a long story short, that's where they met and became friends.

Sandra loves the Eurovision Song Contest and has been watching it for as long as she can remember, and now her dream of performing in it has come true. She thinks that the song 'Through My Window' has got a really catchy chorus - by the second chorus, you can already sing along with it.

Together with her mixed group of backing singers - three Swedish singers and two Estonians - she is going to do her very best as she represents Estonia. The song is written by Pearu Paulus, Ilmar Laisaar, Alar Kotkas (composers) and Jana Hallas (lyricist), the same authors who wrote the Estonian entries for 2000 ("Once in a lifetime") and 2002 ("Runaway"), which came 4th and 3rd, respectively.

The first verse of this song, brings a new meaning to preposterous Eurovision lyrics. Answers on a postcard to anyone who can discern any reasonable meaning from them. Sandra, I suggest that you don't want any rain on your pillow, you'll catch your death. Also I'm of the opinion that "highs and lows" are not always the same thing, no matter what you say love. And as for "grass just turns to stone"...

To some Sandra is a cheap Carola alternative, but not to me. Interestingly the Swedish native pretended to be Carola a few years back with some succes, and now goes up against her at the Eurosong. She is actually going to sing straight after Carola in the semi-final, in a slug-fest of risible lyric and catchy refrain. Sandra is yet another strong female performer, who bestrides the stage with her legs akimbo, slapping her sides like an Asda commercial.

Estonia should get back on track with this effort, helped enormously by backing singers who seem to be actually able to sing. I predict it will qualify for the final, and in the process take enough points from Carola to stop either of them from winning.

"I'm your Barbie Girl, in this Lordi world"

Daphne from Scooby Doo

Sandra didn't say "Like wow! In 1980 our my teacher made us all have a secret ballot on what was our favourite tv show. Although the winner was something like Dukes of Hazzard, coming almost at the bottom of the class, with only 2 votes was the distinctly uncool Scooby Doo. One of those votes belonged to me. And even then, I though Daphne was so coooool.....".

Through my Window

When life is a road going nowhere
I'm alone though you’re gonna be right here
You're my baby
When life is a road going somewhere
All alone I have to hold on to go on

I'm looking through my window
What about the sun you made shine
What about the rain you cried on my pillow

And maybe somebody some day
Finds a way back home but it's gonna be a long way
It’s been a long day
And maybe somebody some way
Highs and lows it's always the same thing
Anyway

I'm looking through my window
What about the sun you made shine
What about the rain you cried on my pillow
I'm looking through my window
What about us tell me why
I still can't see where’s the rainbow

I can't find the words lose my nerve
And grass just turns to stone
When all hopes are high i have my pride
Show you what i’m really like inside

I'm looking through my window
What about the sun you made shine
What about the rain you cried on my pillow
I'm looking through my window
What about us tell me why
I still can't see where’s the rainbow

I'm looking through my window
What about the sun you made shine
What about the rain you cried on my pillow
I'm looking through my window
What about us tell me why
I still can't see where’s the rainbow

I still can't see where’s the rainbow

“This isn’t the first time that a Swede has represented Estonia,” said Estonia’s Head of Delegation. “Sahlene represented us when we hosted Eurovision in 2002. Estonians are quite happy with it. We’re keeping the door closed to foreign composers to protect our own market.
