Anej Dean was born in Celje in 1987. He started his career
in 1997, when he won the Karaoke competition on national television.
He continued in 1998, when he won at a local singing competition, on
Radio Celje, called Full Cool Demo Top. This was his first attempt to
record, and it continued in 2002, when he started improving his vocal
skills at a young teacher, Jasmina Macek.
It wasn't until 2003, when he started studying vocal art with Dada
Kladnik, a renowed music professor from Maribor, that his work in the
music related business finally started. After a year and a half of hard
work, he entered a star-search competition called 'Bitka talentov' on
prime-time tv-show 'Spet doma'.
He gained the second place in the end, reaching more than 28,000 votes
from the public. From then onwards, thing started happening with high
pace. He has found an award-winning music team, Matja Vlašic,
Urša Vlašic and Boštjan Grabnar, who participated in
the ESC before, with Vili Resnik and Nuša Derenda. The first single,
C'est la vie, was released in December 2004, reaching success at the
radio stations. This was even reached in the summer of 2005, when he
had won the Melodies of the sun and the sea festival in Portoro,
being awarded the grand prix prize of the jury as the best song, selected
by music professionals. Later on, he participated at the Slovenian selections
for the ESC in 2005, where he sang as a backing vocalist to Nuša
Derenda, a very successful Eurovision singer.

I
think I need to present a new award category next year, namely the finest
most mature, most brazenly cheese-like performance. Unfortunately there
isn't an award yet, so Anzej is a year too early. Mr Dezan likes to mess
with his hair, is not averse to lots of fabric, upturned collars, and
downright embraces manic gawping at cameras. In fact, it's becoming increasingly
apparent that Slovenia specialise in manic, but when you do manic you
need the full works, shouting, jumping, bright costumes, unbridled aggression...actually
Slovenia could do well this year.
"Anzej won't send Shockwaves through
Europe, but he will through his hair" |

Hong
Kong Phooey
Anzej
has never been quoted as saying
"Hoo Ha, The way Mr Phooey did that trick with the filing cabinet,
his utter inability to actually fight, and his handling of the phone-operating
Rosemary was truly awe-inspiring. Balancing crime-fighting with his
day- job of the mild mannered janitor Penrod Pooch, Phooey and Spot
solved all sorts of pointless crimes. Scatman, but without the scat...man".
Of course the web author could say that the above quote
has been edited for reasons of creativity, however he won't because
the quote is utter lies.

Plan B (original lyrics)
Ti, v prazen zid strmiš
Slutim, da beiš
Nemir drhti v tebi
Ti, lahko me zdaj izdaš
A reci, da priznaš
Ne najdeš me v sebi
Vsaj malo, vsaj malo zacuti me
Reci, me boš kdaj iskala
V srcu za menoj jokala
Reci, se boš kdaj vrnila
Mogoce sem plan B
Rezerva, ko ne gre
Alarm zazvoni, ko drug te zapusti
Kot judov je poljub
Poln vseh obljub
Ta dotik med nama
Vsaj malo, vsaj malo zacuti me
Reci, me boš kdaj iskala
V srcu za menoj jokala
Reci, se boš kdaj vrnila
Mogoce sem plan B
Rezerva, ko ne gre
Alarm zazvoni, ko drug te zapusti
Reci, me boš kdaj iskala
V srcu za menoj jokala
Reci, se boš kdaj vrnila
Mogoce sem plan B
Rezerva, ko ne gre
Alarm zazvoni, ko drug te zapusti

Mr Nobody
You, you came to me one night,
Just like a ray of light,
I thought we'd be forever
Now, it's so clear to me,
I'm part of history,
You're leaving me in sorrow
So deeply,
So badly,
You're hurting me
Tell me,
Who's that lucky hero,
Sleeping
Tightly on your pillow,
Tell me,
Will it be forever
'cause when you look at me,
I'm mr nobody,
It's just a game you play,
Can't let you walk away
Like a stranger passing by,
With no more tears to dry,
You're leaving me in sorrow

“I’m the biggest Eurovision
fan ever and I really hope to get to the Final,” said Anej
Dean from Slovenia. “I’ve just done a huge promo tour
for my song ‘Mr Nobody’ – the first time Slovenia has
ever done this – and I’ve gotten a taste for it". |
