"The song 'I Do' will be released in various countries before the Eurovision Song Contest, and will be accompanied by a top quality video & major promotional activities".

Music & Lyrics by: Aldo Spiteri & Fabrizio Faniello

Fabrizio Faniello is Malta's number one! This year he will represent Malta in the 51st edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. His song, I Do, won this year's Go Mobile Malta Song for Europe Festival held on Saturday 4th February 2006 at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta. He received the top scores in the contest, judged 100% from televoting, making him the peoples' choice to represent Malta in Athens, Greece, this coming May.

Fabrizio is not new to the Eurovision scene, this is the second time he represents his country, Malta, in the Eurovision Song Contest. "The second time feels even better…" was Fabrizio's very enthusiastic comment shortly after he won this year's competition. He is determined to give his all, to make Malta proud.

His real breakthrough in the Eurovision scene was in 2001 Millions of Eurovision fans watched this event. After this first, fantastic, performance on the Eurovision stage, Fabrizio gained a huge fan-following worldwide. On his return home thousands of fans gathered to give him the warmest welcome ever! This turned out to be a very good year for Fabrizio, he was guest in practically every Maltese TV and radio programme, and the local press gave him great reviews.

his debut-album, While I´m Dreamin reached the No. 1 position in the Maltese Album charts. It is, to date, the best selling album of a Maltese artist, ever. His second album marked Fabrizio's real international success - the single, I'm In Love The Whistle Hit) and his album were released in more than 30 countries. The song became a big hit on radio & TV and went into the sales charts in Sweden at #7 (and was in the Top 20 for 15 weeks) followed by # 11 in Finland, Top 50 in Belgium and Germany.

Last year was the Eurovision Song Contest's 50th anniversary, and Fabrizio was invited to be part of the show Congratulations, held on the 22nd October 2005 in Copenhagen, Denmark, to mark the 50th jubilee of the Eurovision Song Contest. During the show he performed his song Another Summer Night in a medley with other Eurovision participants.

Recently, Fabrizio released his third album Believe, which went straight to the number one position in the Maltese Album charts. Now, Fabrizio is once again geared up to give his utmost for Malta. Since winning the Malta Song for Europe Festival he is focusing all his energies to give his all for Malta. The song I Do will be released in various countries before the Eurovision Song Contest, and will be accompanied by a top quality video & major promotional activities. The media and Eurovision fans are all very enthusiastic about Fabrizio and are predicting very good results for him and Malta. His song is very upbeat and catchy, and although very young, he has the experience and, of course, good looks, which will give him the confidence to shine on the Eurovision stage. The millions of Europeans watching on the night will remember Fabrizio's I Do, they simply have no choice!

When you have a country with a population akin to a tiny English hamlet, it is inevitable that singers have to be recycled. After the re-birth of Chiara last year, Malta have looked into the past once more, and come up with the young walloper Fabrizio. Mr Faniello (pronounced in the same way as a Cockney might say "well that is amusing"), belts his way through a by-the-numbers pop number, the type of song Maltesers can perform in their sleep. Malta is already up in arms because Europe doesn't think that the song can win. It's almost as if they're getting the disappointment over with early doors so they can start planning for 2007 now. Wise move, Malta.

"Fabrizio's one fan says hello"

Fabrizio loves...Ivor The Engine

"Ivor was a train…a slow, meandering steam train which travelled through the Welsh valleys getting into well-written scrapes on the way. A revelation to all Maltesers, who live on an island bereft of railways, Ivor offered an escape to the road only travelling of our childhood. I spent many a youthful day puffing and panting while my uncle stoked my coal bucket". Of course it's blatantly apparent that Fabrizio has never been quoted with this

I Do

cause I do I do I do
I do I do I love you like a fool

I’ve been there by your side
We’ve been laughing we have cried
kept the piece of heart you gave
from our break up-day
you left me, still I know
you didn’t have a choice
waiting for the day we’re back together

I won't give you up, I'll never stop
I got a piece of your heart
I can't get enough
cause I do I do I do
I do I do I love you like a fool

Our lives were torn apart
I know we’ll get a brand new start
when the world just can’t decide
where we lay our love
we’ve done our time alone
and never will again
waiting for the day we’re back together

I won't give you up, I'll never stop
I got a piece of your heart
I can't get enough
cause I do I do I do
I do I do I need you
I won't give you up, I'll never stop
I got a piece of your heart
I can't get enough
cause I do I do I do
I do I do I love you like a fool

Waiting for the day
when I hear you say
our love is here to stay

I won't give you up, I'll never stop
I got a piece of your heart
I can't get enough
cause I do I do I do
I do I do I need you
I won't give you up, I'll never stop
I got a piece of your heart
I can't get enough
cause I do I do I do
I do I do I love you like a fool

“Am I planning to return to Eurovision in the future?” he said. “Wow. It’s always a pleasure, a real honour. You never know, I might be back – maybe with my sister who’s a really good singer".
